Aston Martin DBR1 Build

In 2016 Scarab Motorsports, was commissioned to build an authentic "tool room" recreation of the famous Aston Martin DBR1 sports racer. The DBR1 remains Aston Martin's most victorious race car, winning both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the World Sports Car Championship in 1959.

With many hours of research and documentation of one of the original DBR1's, the Scarab Motorsport team started with a hand fabricated aluminum body then designed and built a bespoke space-frame chassis. A rebuilt vintage Aston Martin twin-cam six cylinder engine was installed along with a period correct rear mounted trans-axle. Once the DBR1 was completed it was delivered with great fanfare to the family of an Aston Martin, Le Mans winning driver.
